Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

The short version: Stubsmith is built to keep your paperwork private. Most estimates, invoices, receipts, client details, business info, logos, signatures, and document history stay in your own browser on your own device. Optional AI-assisted features may process content you choose to submit. We do not sell your personal information or place ad trackers on Stubsmith.

Who we are

Stubsmith is a product of GridHome Group LLC (“GridHome Group,” “GHG,” “Stubsmith,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a New York limited liability company.

You can contact us through the contact page on the Stubsmith website.

Information stored on your device

Stubsmith stores document-related information locally in your browser whenever possible, including:

  • estimates, invoices, and receipts;
  • line items, prices, quantities, taxes, discounts, and totals;
  • client names, addresses, emails, and phone numbers;
  • your business profile and contact information;
  • uploaded logos or signatures;
  • document history and settings.

This information is stored using your browser’s local storage or similar browser-based storage. It is not automatically sent to Stubsmith servers.

If you clear your browser data, switch devices, use a private/incognito browser, reset your browser, or uninstall the app, locally stored information may be lost. We cannot recover locally stored data because we do not have a server copy of it.

You are responsible for protecting access to your own device, browser, and files. Anyone with access to your device or browser profile may be able to view locally stored Stubsmith information.

Waitlist and contact information

If you join the Stubsmith Pro waitlist, we collect the email address you provide. We use it to notify you about Stubsmith Pro, product updates, launch timing, and related Stubsmith information.

If you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, message content, and any information you choose to include in your message.

You may ask us to delete your waitlist or contact information at any time.

Optional AI-assisted features

Stubsmith may offer optional AI-assisted features, such as voice input, scope polishing, item suggestions, translation, or document wording help.

If you choose to use an AI-assisted feature, the text, audio, or other content you submit for that feature may be sent to our API and/or third-party AI service providers so the requested result can be generated and returned to your browser.

We use AI-submitted content to provide the feature you requested. We do not use your estimates, invoices, receipts, or client information to build advertising profiles. We do not sell AI-submitted content.

Do not submit sensitive personal information, confidential third-party information, passwords, financial account numbers, Social Security numbers, or other highly sensitive information into AI-assisted features unless you are comfortable with that information being processed to provide the feature.

Analytics and technical information

We may use privacy-respecting analytics, including Cloudflare Web Analytics, to understand aggregate site usage, such as page visits, general location by country or region, browser type, device type, and performance information.

We may also process basic technical information through our hosting, security, and infrastructure providers, such as IP address, browser information, request metadata, error logs, security logs, and performance data. We use this information to operate, protect, debug, and improve Stubsmith.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers on Stubsmith.

Payments and payment links

Stubsmith lets you add your own payment link to a document, such as a Stripe, Square, PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, bank, or other payment link.

Payment links are between you, your client, and your payment provider. Stubsmith does not process, hold, transfer, or take a percentage of payments between you and your clients.

Your payment provider’s own terms and privacy policy apply to any payment transaction.

Service providers

We use service providers to operate Stubsmith, including hosting, security, analytics, email, API, and optional AI service providers.

These providers may process information only as needed to provide services to us, operate Stubsmith, protect the site, send requested communications, or deliver optional features you choose to use.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent your personal information.
  • We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing.
  • We do not place advertising trackers on Stubsmith.
  • We do not require an account, login, or credit card to use the free Stubsmith tool.
  • We do not process payments between you and your clients.
  • We do not automatically upload your locally stored estimates, invoices, receipts, client details, logos, signatures, or document history to our servers.

Data retention

Document data stored in your browser remains on your device for as long as your browser keeps it.

Waitlist emails are kept until Stubsmith Pro launches and for a reasonable period afterward, unless you ask us to delete yours sooner.

Contact messages may be kept as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you, maintain business records, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.

Technical and security logs are kept for a limited period as needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve Stubsmith.

Children

Stubsmith is a business tool intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Stubsmith, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you.

In most cases, the personal information we hold directly is limited to information such as your email address, contact message, waitlist signup, or optional feature submissions. Locally stored document data is controlled by your own browser and device.

To exercise privacy rights, contact us through the contact page. We may need to verify your request before responding.

California residents can review our California Notice at Collection for additional disclosures.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect Stubsmith and the information processed through our systems.

No website, browser storage method, or internet transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your own device, browser, email account, and payment accounts secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

Material changes may also be noted on the Stubsmith website.
