Is it really free? What's the catch?
Yes. The free version lets you create estimates, invoices, and receipts directly in your browser without an account or credit card. Stubsmith Pro is optional and unlocks faster repeat paperwork features like saved clients, business branding, logos, and unlimited document history.
Do I have to sign up or give an email?
No. You can use the free generator without creating an account or giving an email. An email is only needed if you choose to join the Stubsmith Pro waitlist or contact us.
Where is my data stored?
Most of your Stubsmith data stays in your own browser on your own device. Estimates, invoices, receipts, client details, business info, logos, signatures, line items, and document history are stored locally in browser storage. They are not automatically uploaded to GridHome Group servers.
What happens if I clear my browser data or switch devices?
Because Stubsmith stores documents locally in your browser, clearing browser data, using a private/incognito window, switching browsers, or changing devices may remove your saved documents. Download or save important PDFs for your records.
Can I use Stubsmith for non-trade businesses?
Yes. Stubsmith is built for trade and service pros, but it can also work for many small businesses that need simple estimates, invoices, or receipts. You are responsible for making sure your documents fit your business, client, tax, and record-keeping requirements.
Does Stubsmith process payments?
No. Stubsmith does not process, hold, transmit, or guarantee payments. If you add a Stripe, Square, PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, bank, or other payment link, that payment is between you, your client, and your payment provider.
What does Stubsmith Pro unlock?
